Here is a fun project that any crafter will enjoy.  I made mine while traveling in the car for  15 hours.  I’ve  made two of these cute christmas tree garlands so far, to give as a gift.  I am working on a third to give to myself!

I orginally saw this adorable craft at She made her cute trees in a variety of colors and hung them on the tree…

I chose to make mine in shades of green and hang them on a yard of pom pom trim, to make a festive garland…felt-garland-christmas-tree

Here is how I made mine…

1. Cut several trees out of craft felt, in the colors you like. I used different shades of green, for whimsical fun, I cut a few out of  polka dot.   (Click here for a free tree pattern)…IMG_0603                                    My garland has 8 trees, so I cute 16 in total…

2. Embroider 7-8 stars to the top piece of each tree. Here is how to make the stars..

First:  Using 2 strands of embroidery floss,  stitch a cross (or plus), about 1/2 long…

Second:  Stitch an X inside the cross.  You may want to practice on scrap felt…

2-tree3. Attach the tree back using a whip stitch.  Before you stitch across the bottom, stuff a little cotton inside, this gives it some dimension…
IMG_06044.  Attach the trees to a yard of ribbon or trim, using a little stitch at the top of each tree…

I love garlands. This is easy enough for the kids to do too. So cute!
